Clarification?
"A routine is a piece of source code that performs some functionality."
So this can include a snippet of code in the middle of the program being labeled as a routine.
I'm not a language purist but I've always remembered that a routine is alway a separate entity, i.e. always a procedure or function. A quick glance at [1] (redirected from routine) seems to confirm this.
Of course, I might be wrong ;) What do you guys think? --BigChimp 19:40, 27 April 2013 (UTC)
- I think you are right.--Jwdietrich 19:54, 27 April 2013 (UTC)
- I attempted to qualify routines by inserting the word “re-usable”. Better? Kai Burghardt (talk) 15:40, 20 May 2018 (CEST)
