Sorry, I'm going to say this in English as my written/spoken German is awful, though I do understand it.

Here: Zeichentypen, bei denen ein Zeichen durch zwei Byte codiert wird which would mean widestring is encoded by 2 bytes per character, right? However, with e.g. unicode, IIRC this only applies to UTF16 Unicode characters that can be encoded by 2 bytes. If the character is encoded by 4 bytes, this obviously isn't true. See LCL_Unicode_Support#Widestrings_and_Ansistrings
